Foundation Programmes

From beginner level to higher communication skills, Foundation Programmes lead the way in worldwide recognised achievements. They are designed as an alternative to university study in tourism and hospitality, or as complementary qualifications for native speakers and international undergraduates.

Foundation Diploma in Tourism and Hospitality

Provides new students with a fundamental understanding of the Tourism and Hospitality industry, applicable to a wide range of job opportunities in the sector. The following units will grant students a portfolio-approved range of skills: Essentials of Human Resources and Business Computing in Tourism & Hospitality, Essentials of Marketing and Customer Relationships in Tourism & Hospitality, Tourism & Hospitality Industry and Essentials of Tourism & Hospitality Operations.

Foundation Diploma in Hospitality Business

This diploma is aimed to students who are new to the industry (typically in the 16-18 age bracket). The course covers the foundation principles of the field. Hospitality is a massive sector and one of the single biggest industries in the world, covering everything from international 5-star hotels, through spas, restaurants, coffee shops, bars and specialist resorts. It offers an incredible range of career opportunities and this foundation programme offers an excellent first induction into the workings of this vast sector as viewed in a commercial business context. This is the reason why the diploma is divided into the following units: Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Purpose & Function of International Business, Entrepreneurship and Essentials of Marketing and Customer Relationships in Tourism & Hospitality.

Students who successfully finish their CTH Foundation course at ELA, will have an opportunity to study a Tourism & Hospitality Undergraduate Degree at one of the universities accepting the CTH Foundation programmes in the UK or worldwide such as Bournemouth University, BPP University, Buckinghamshire New University, Coventry University College, Glasgow Caledonian University, St Mary’s University and many more, please check the full list of universities here.
