Aimed to provide students with an understanding of the Hospitality Industry through a range of essential skills and a practical approach. It’s suitable for employees with a more practical job output, through units such as Customer Skills, Restaurant and Bar Service, Housekeeping, Reception and Reservations, Concierge and Guest Service.
Requirements: Students must have completed full time secondary or high school education up to age 16 and a B2 English Level (if the level is lower than B2, then the student will require to take an Academic English and IELTS Exam Preparation at ELA, the duration will depend on the entry placement test).
The course is divided into the following units:
A Portfolio of evidence of activities for each unit, including mandatory observations. Once all units have been completed and internally verified the Centre may apply to CTH for a synoptic assessment covering all units within the qualification.
Individual units can be graded either as pass or fail. Each unit has three separate assessments, each with a Pass /Fail grade, with 60% required to achieve a Pass. All three assessments must be passed to achieve a pass for a unit. The qualification is also graded as Pass or Fail. A Pass is awarded where all three units have a Pass Grade. In terms of certification, students will receive a transcript of their results for each unit successfully completed, plus the award certificate where all units have been successfully completed.
